Welcome to Halo’s Privacy Policy. This Policy explains how Halo (hereby referred to as the “Company”) collects and uses your data, and how you can control your information. These documents can also be accessed through in-app notices that provide you information about our products and services.

Transparency matters to the team at Halo. We believe you should have full transparency and understanding of the data we collect and how we use it — in easy-to-understand, upfront language. Your information is only processed to provide you a more personalized experience, help you access your memories, and provide you information that you request. We believe that this value should never come at the cost of your privacy. Your information is encrypted end-to-end and not accessed by us in any other way.

This Policy covers our Halo app and smart glasses pairing, as well as other future products, services, and features. These will collectively be referred to as "Services" in this Policy. Similarly, “Terms” will refer to the Terms of Service you agree to when you sign up for our Services.

Control Over Your Information

You, as the user, should have full control of your information. We provide a range of tools:

• Access and update your data. You can access and edit most of your basic account information in our Services. Navigate to the settings tab of our app and options will be available. Should you require assistance, please reach out to [email protected].
• Delete your data. If you want to delete your account, please reach out to [email protected].
• Change your permissions. You can change your permissions at any time. For example, if you provided access to location data during onboarding, you can always change your settings. Note that certain features and Services, such as real-time navigation help, would be negatively impacted and/or not work.
• Opt out of promotional messages. You have the option to opt out or unsubscribe from promotional content sent by email, SMS, or other messaging platforms. To do so, follow the instructions in the message, such as an unsubscribe link.
• Tracking. We ask for certain identifying information (such as name and email) to solicit feedback and improve the value from our Services. The collection of this information is clearly indicated prior to onboarding and is completely voluntary.

Our Company will takes all steps reasonably necessary to ensure your data is treated securely, and that you maintain control over your data. Note that we may need to retain certain information when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

When you use our Services, we collect information you provide, generate information when you use our Services, and in some cases process data to return results.

Information You Provide

Our Services require you to log in with your Apple ID. We ask you to provide us with account details (such as your name, username, email address). If you are enrolled in future paid subscription tiers, we may ask you for payment and related information (like your physical address and payment information, so we can process the payment).

You’ll also provide us with information you send through or save within our Services, including audio and video transcriptions. We consider this information to be private, and use this information only to provide features of our Service.

Lastly, when you contact our team for support or communicate with us in any other way, we’ll collect whatever information you provide or that we need to resolve your question.
